Joint Venture
Wyld Stallyns held a press conference in Windsor, Ontario, in Canada. Great news was announced:

  • Shock Records - Australia's premier independent record company recently signed Wyld Stallyns to a long-term, worldwide recording deal in a joint operation with Wyld Stallyns Productions.
  • Wyld Stallyns released their first video single of "Sarah" in December 1997 to correspond with the release of their album, Wyld Valley.
  • The band will kick of the start of their world tour by participating in the Sydney, Australia, New Years eve World Peace concert.

Shock's managing director Williams Donaldson said, "I think Wyld Stallyns in 1997 are a relevant force in world music. The fact the band comes with an established track record internationally is the icing on the cake as far as we're concerned. The new album is as fresh and exciting as any I've heard in recent years. The band members are committed, fired up and unique, and I think Shock's aggressive and innovative approach to marketing the album, both within Australia and internationally will result in a rewarding partnership that will make perfect sense."

New Baby

Bill and Joanna are proud parents of a new baby girl. Little Juliana was born November 4, 1997. Joanna will be absent from Wyld Stallyns tours until late 1998 when the band picks up on the US portion of the tour. Proud papa says he will be making frequent trips back home.

Ted in Accident

Ted received a lot of scrapes and bruises, a broken leg, sprained neck, and a mild concussion when he lost control of his motorcycle on a dark stretch of road. He will remain in the hospital for a week so doctors can monitor his condition. Police says he's lucky to be alive. They report that the motorcycle skidded on the shoulder when the corner was rounded too quickly. [Ted] was thrown from the bike and his helmet was cracked upon impact with the rock face near the road.

Kids' Art on Cover

Ted, Jr. and Bill, Jr. teamed up to design the cover of the new Wyld Stallyns album. Although Teddy and Billy have exceptional interest in music like their parents, they have generally remained shielded from the stage life of Wyld Stallyns. Now in junior high, they have followed in their famous fathers' footsteps by pairing up in their own hobby rock band.
